NC teachers to receive one-time $750 bonus

By Nick Niedzwiadek Senior Writer The state’s two-month overdue budget glacially neared completion Wednesday as the legislature reached an agreement on teacher pay. Teachers across the state will receive a one-time $750 bonus this year as opposed to the House’s original plan to give all teachers a 2 percent raise, according to documents provided by Sen.

Tim Moore is slated to become one of the most powerful politicians in North Carolina on Wednesday, assuming the role of speaker of the N.C. House. More than two decades ago, Moore stirred controversy as speaker of UNC’s Student Congress for attempting to defund the Carolina Gay and Lesbian Association (CGLA).


Kay Hagan’s senate seat was one of many Democrats’ lost during the Election. Political analysts said it’s very rare for a president’s party to do well during midterm elections.

Kay Hagan targeted for flip-flop on Ebola
