Lawsuit threatened if Silent Sam is not removed

Representatives of UNC Student Organizations and a lawyer representing the UNC Black Law Students Association sent a letter to Chancellor Carol Folt, UNC President Margaret Spellings, the Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors saying they will sue the University if they do not act on Silent Sam.

North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein joined 15 other state attorneys general in filing a lawsuit to protect Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival grantees on Wednesday. This lawsuit comes on the heels of the Donald Trump administration’s announcement to end DACA Tuesday.

UNC advances in sustainability rankings

 Environmentally conscious students now have a new reason to be proud of UNC: the University jumped from rank 39 to 28 on the Sierra Club's rankings of sustainable universities.
