Through 19 ties and eight lead changes, North Carolina volleyball (26-5) opened its postseason with a 3-1 victory against California (15-16) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
For the third straight year, North Carolina’s volleyball team (25-5, 16-4) will compete in the NCAA Tournament and will face familiar foe — California.
Home-court advantage is real — especially in the fifth set of an NCAA Tournament match.
The North Carolina men’s basketball team went 2-1 at the Maui Invitational last week, posting dominating performances against Mississippi State and Chaminade, and falling 82-71 to Butler in the semifinal game.
In a match featuring a total of 40 tied scores and 16 lead changes, UNC managed to put together an 8-1 run when it counted to win the fifth set 15-7 and keep its home record at an unblemished 15-0.
