UNC creative writing students debut their breakout stories after a year of work at a reading on April 19 at 5:30 p.m.
“I think what’s so optimistic about this text is that it recognizes the importance of the choices that we make," Leigha Vilen, director of "Constellations", said. "And it acknowledges that even when those choices end up hurting us — or end up causing us pain — that making a choice, and choosing to live and experience all the uncertainty in life is worth it every single day."
Four-person band Dear Boy will be opening up for Rogue Wave at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro this Tuesday. The doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m. Staff writer Maya Jarrell spoke with Ben Grey, vocalist and guitarist for the group, about the band’s identity and what it’s like to be on tour.
UNC’s MFA students are currently putting their talents on display through a series of thesis shows at the John and June Allcott Gallery. “Throughout the entire gallery you’re constantly using a different sense, whether it’s smell, touch or sight,” said MFA student Brittany Anderson.
