When it gets rainy and you’re looking out for the puddles in the Pit, make sure to watch for the latest trending footwear. You will know this trend when you see it, especially on a cloudy day. UNC students have been spotted around campus with footwear that will certainly stop you in your tracks. Shoes shining bright on campus this season are Hunter Wellington boots (in hot pink, red, blue, green, yellow) and the latest Nike running shoes. These choices will no doubt complement your “rain coat and coffee look” on a dreary day in Chapel Hill.
London was also a hotbed for neon this summer during the Olympics. American track and field stars especially shined in their shoes, and gold medalist and world record holder Allyson Felix was no exception. Viewers could not dispute that her shoes helped to highlight her lightning fast starts and record-breaking sprints. Nike really took this marketing proposal and ran with it.
Long story-short, students in Chapel Hill and people all over the world are brightening up their wardrobes with a little neon footwear. Stores everywhere are featuring them and you know what that means… (More products, better prices?) We hope so! Kick off the fall season with some radiant footwear.
