UNC men's lacrosse leads Princeton 10-9

With less than seven minutes to play, the No. 3 North Carolina's men's lacrosse team leads No. 5 Princeton 10-9 at Fetzer Field.

After jumping to an early 5-2 lead, UNC pushed the advantage to 7-2 midway through the second quarter on goals from Sean Delaney and Jimmy Dunster. But Princeton scored two goals in less than a minute to cut the margin to three at the break.

UNC then pushed the lead to 10-5 late in the third quarter on a Michael Burns strike from the top of the box, but Jack McBride scored two quick goals for the Tigers to cut the lead to 10-7 with one quarter left to play.

With less than 10 minutes remaining, Rob Engelke cut the Tar Heel lead to two on a fast break goal. Cryder Dipietro was penalized for an illegal body-check on the scoring play, and Mike Engelke capitalized on the man-up situation for Princeton, scoring from the right side of the box to cut the UNC lead in half with 8:34 remaining

Gavin Petracca has scored four goals for the Tar Heels, while Jimmy Dunster has added two.
