We can deny that they depict reality, as more than one Daily Tar Heel opinion piece has done. We can shrug them off as another price that must be paid to maintain our lifestyles. We can treat them as regrettable but necessary casualties in the struggle for women's rights. Whatever we do, we cannot make them go away. They will haunt us in our dreams forever.
