Volleyball Tops 'Pack, Moves to 8-0 in ACC

The win is the Tar Heels' 11th consecutive victory and moves their record to 15-3 overall, 8-0 in ACC action.

With the loss, the Wolfpack fall to

5-10, 1-7 in the ACC.

North Carolina junior outside hitter Laura Greene had 11 kills and hit .308, while freshman outside hitter Molly Pyles tallied eight kills and had a .533 hitting percentage.

Junior setter Malaika Underwood led the squad with 40 assists and nine digs.

As a team, North Carolina out-hit the Wolfpack .355 to .070 for the match. Freshman setter Lindi Sheppard led N.C. State with seven kills and a .353 hitting percentage and also had 17 assists and six digs.

Senior outside hitter Charece Williams led N.C. State with nine digs, followed by Alison Kreager with eight.

The Tar Heels are back in action Friday when they host Kansas at

9 p.m. in Carmichael Auditorium before "Midnight with the Heels" kicks off.

Softball to Host Tourney

The North Carolina softball team will host a round-robin tournament Sunday at Finley Field to wrap up its fall competition. Georgia and UNC-Wilmington will travel in for the tournament, which begins at 10 a.m. when the Tar Heels face the Bulldogs.
