Tears Bring Peace in Times of Grief

A friend of mine recently passed away, and I'm not sure of how to deal with the grief. We had a lot of good times together, but whenever I try to think of them, it only makes me cry. What should I do?

Dealing with the passing of a loved one is one of the hardest lessons that we will ever learn in our lifetimes. Sometimes we simply take for granted that they will always be there, which makes it even harder to accept the loss when they leave us.

There is no easy solution for conquering your grief, but one method that I have found helpful in my pain is to remember your times together. Find a friend who shares your grief and reminisce about your lost loved one: her energy, her playfulness, her love for everyone, her gratitude. Remember the sound of her voice, the look of her eye, and the weight of her body against you. Remember the times you played together, the times you fought, and the times you loved.

Yes the tears will flow, much as mine have. But they will be healing tears. Tears that will help close the wound in your heart and bring you peace.

Adam Shupe gives his condolences to the Fields family and friends. We love you Tucker, and may you rest in peace.
