Students Need to Attend BOG Meeting to Keep UNC-System Tuition Low

The Association of Student Governments of the University of North Carolina system is asking for your support and help. On March 6 the Board of Governors of the UNC system will vote to raise tuition. At approximately 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, the BOG will meet to decide how much to raise tuition.

Student government at UNC-CH has arranged buses that will leave the ATMs behind Davis Library beginning at 12:30 p.m. to go to the General Administration building on South Road. The decision to increase tuition has not been made, and your presence will help ensure that tuition stays low.

For North Carolina to continue to be a great state, we must keep the doors of education open. Each increase in tuition denies another high school student the opportunity to attend college, especially now during this economic crunch.

The ASG is launching the "Keep North Carolina Educated" campaign to keep tuition low and keep open the door of education to another North Carolinian.

We ask that you let the UNC-system Board of Governor know that they should not vote to raise tuition.

You can do this two ways. Either go the BOG meeting on March 6 at 1:15 p.m. or contact individual board members. Their contact information can be found at http://www.northcarolina.edu/bog.

By letting them know not to raise tuition, you are helping to "Keep North Carolina Educated."
