The (Raleigh) News & Observer reported last week that the North Carolina Department of Athletics plans to report recruiting violations to the NCAA. Under NCAA rules, a college football coach can evaluate a prospective player in person two times in the spring.
Bunting attended three workouts for the annual Shrine Bowl all-star game between players from North Carolina and South Carolina. The workouts were April 27, May 11 and May 18. The game will take place Dec. 14 in Rock Hill, S.C.
Capel, Lang Struggle For NBA's Attention
Former North Carolina men's basketball players Jason Capel and Kris Lang participated in this year's NBA draft. Capel, a 6-foot-8 forward, led the Tar Heels with 75 assists. The 6-foot-11 Lang played center and led the team in blocks, with 33 total. Both athletes were seniors during UNC's 8-20, 4-12 season.
