Tar Heels lengthen winning streak to 11

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Coretta Brown scored 28 points to lead the 10th-ranked North Carolina women's basketball team to a 74-53 win against Florida State on Sunday.

The victory extended the Tar Heels' winning streak to 11.

Brown scored nine points in a 17-3 run late in the first half that put UNC (14-1, 4-0 in the ACC) up 33-27 at the break. She also started and capped a 20-4 spurt to open the second half with a pair of 3-pointers.

Brown, a senior guard, tied her career high for points. She also scored 28 against Harvard in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last year.

Nikita Bell added 12 points for the Tar Heels, which had a 38-24 rebounding advantage that included 16 offensive boards.

Tasheika Morris led the Seminoles (10-4, 2-1) with 14 points and was the only Florida State player to score in double figures.
