The North Carolina football team took a win in its first game of 2008, thanks in large part to a stunning performance by senior Brandon Tate. Tate finished with a school-record 397 all-purpose yards on only 11 touches. UNC beat McNeese State 35-27 in a game delayed almost two hours for weather. Despite climbing to an early 14-0 lead, the Tar Heels came back from the break without fire and fell to a third-quarter deficit, overcome in large part by Tate's explosiveness. Tate finished 106 yards rushing and 93 yards receiving, as well as an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown. Check Tuesday's Daily Tar Heel for the story.
