TO THE EDITOR:
While I agree that some of the quotations on the front page of the Sept. 11 DTH could have been a little more patriotic" it is inappropriate to criticize the people whose quotations were used.
One of my quotations was critiqued in a Sept. 15 letter to the editor (""DTH should be ashamed of front page quotations"") in which the author stated that I ""did not remember anything and that the day did not mean anything to (me).""
I would like to remind the author of that letter of what exactly my quotation said: ""When you're that young you can't really understand what's going on.""
Just to clarify" I did not say anything about not remembering the day nor did I say anything about 9/11 not meaning anything to me.
I do completely agree that politically charged remarks should be left out of a tribute to such a significant day in our history and that a little more sensitivity could have been included in the DTH's Sept. 11 front page.
However I speak for myself and the other people whose opinions were quoted that the interviewer failed to inform us that she was taking quotations for a tribute.
Instead she simply said she was running a story on the day and its impact.
