5:05 p.m. MONDAY OCT. 27 GREENSBORO — A federal grand jury has indicted one of the two suspects in the killing of former Student Body President Eve Carson.
 
Demario James Atwater22 now carries federal charges of carjacking resulting in death using firearms during a carjacking being a felon in possession of firearms" and possessing an improperly registered shotgun.
 
The first two counts are punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty. The second two carry 10-year prison sentences. The U.S. Attorney General has not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty.

Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall has already indicated that he will seek the death penalty for similar charges in state court.
