Barzilai's liberal leanings contradicted in analysis

TO THE EDITOR:

It is not difficult to discern from the tone of last week's editorial column, (Price wins UNC debate"" Oct. 15) that the author is at least liberal-leaning.

Ironically, the same words Mr. Barzilai uses to extol Rep. David Price and denounce Dr. B.J. Lawson appropriately describe our nation's presidential candidates — with party lines reversed.

John McCain is regarded as the experienced leader"" with knowledge of ""the machinery of Congress."" Meanwhile"" Barack Obama is viewed as spouting ""idealistic rhetoric"" while having an ""unrealistic and vague"" platform and arguably lacking traits of ""effective leadership.""

I haven't yet determined whether I'll vote for Lawson or Price.

But Mr. Barzilai has apparently made his decision for the 4th District seat based upon the characteristics he described" and it's reasonable to suppose he will be voting for McCain in November as McCain possesses the same traits he praises Price for.
