The Carolina Athletic Association wants to clarify a factual error that was made in yesterday's letter by Hannah Autry (Penalty system needed for basketball ticketing" Oct. 28).
Each student that is randomly selected in the student lottery will still be allotted two tickets. The one ticket per lottery winner"" idea was actually proposed by the Athletic Department and CAA last year at the Student Ticket Forum; however" it received strong opposition from the students in attendance. The Athletic Department and CAA acted accordingly in designing this year's policy and thus the two-ticket system has remained in place.
The only major change from last year's policy is that all student tickets will be deemed invalid at tip-off. This will ensure that those in the stand-by line will be allowed in the gates as quickly as possible. This way we can fill the Dean Dome and reward their dedication for utilizing this back-up option for tickets.
