5:30 p.m. MONDAY OCT. 27 — A female pedestrian was struck by a Chapel Hill Transit bus at about 4 p.m. today.


The victim appeared to be in serious condition and was taken to N.C. Memorial Hospital said Sgt. Donnie Rhoads of Chapel Hill Police. She has not yet been identified.


The incident occurred in the southbound lane of South Columbia Street about 20 feet south of the intersection of South Columbia Street and Mason Farm Road said Randy Young spokesman of the Department of Public Safety.
