5 p.m." WEDNESDAY OCT. 15 -- Electricity has been restored to most places on campus" as well as in Chapel Hill and Carrboro.

More than 2"500 Duke Power customers lost power about 12:45 p.m.

The problem -- a substation failure on Cameron Avenue -- had been fixed just before 2 p.m. but because of the University's setup with Duke Energy many buildings did not get power until about 2:45 p.m said Andy Thompson spokesman for Duke Energy.

Lenoir Dining Hall will remain closed today. It will reopen Sunday after Fall Break.
