A 26-year-old Chapel Hill man was arrested on suspicion of embezzlement at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday at 1105 Highway 54 Bypass, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Ryan George Evans was arrested at his residence and taken to the Chapel Hill Police Department for processing. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Someone committed armed robbery at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday at 1129 Weaver Dairy Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person displayed a knife and demanded that the victim empty his pockets, making off with $40 in cash, reports state.

Someone broke into a silver 2003 Honda Accord at 10:11 p.m. Tuesday at 308 W. Rosemary St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole a GPS worth $160 and damaged the car’s window, reports state.

Someone broke into a home by cutting a screen and prying open the window between noon Saturday and 4:40 p.m. Tuesday at 101 Menora Lane, doing $800 worth of damage, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Someone climbed into an unlocked window of a residence between 8 a.m. and 4:09 p.m. Tuesday at 108 Barton Lane, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Someone was hit during an argument at 5:51 a.m. Tuesday at 307 S. Estes Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

A 17-year-old man was arrested for possession of 5.5 grams of marijuana at 11:14 p.m. Jan. 21 at 201 Highland Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Diego Orlando Martinez was issued a citation and released to his family.
