Someone broke into a silver 2002 Volkswagen Jetta between 6:15 p.m. and 7:34 p.m. Tuesday at 302 Knolls St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage to the vehicle’s window was valued at $100, reports state.

Someone stole a license plate between 8 a.m. and 5:25 p.m. Wednesday at 300 Market St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The license plate was valued at $25, reports state.

A 30-year-old Chapel Hill man was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest at 3:03 a.m. Tuesday at 751 Trinity Court, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Steven Woodrow Caldwell, of 500 Umstead Drive, was released by the Orange County magistrate on a written promise to appear in court in March, reports state.

Someone reported Wednesday that an unknown person entered their home through the basement door between noon and 5 p.m. Nov. 29 at 4303 Pope Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Nothing was reported taken.

An animal bit a person at 2:11 p.m. Wednesday at 112 W. Main St., according to Carrboro police reports.
