Police Log for Feb. 25, 2010

Somebody broke into a residence and stole $4,785 in property between 2:30 p.m. and 3:31 p.m. Tuesday at 215 N. Graham St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole two laptops collectively worth $4,200 and $585 worth of jewelry, reports state.

A man and a woman were arrested for drug violations at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 15-501 South, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Joshua Maurice Jones, 28, of Chapel Hill was cited for possessing 8.1 grams of marijuana, reports state. Jones, who was listed as an employee at Rams Head Dining Hall, was released under a written promise to appear in court. Kelli Rachell Fearrington, 23, of Carrboro was arrested for possession with intent to sell and distribute 2 grams of crack cocaine, maintaining a vehicle to sell drugs and absence of liability insurance, reports state.
She was brought before a magistrate and received a $7,500 unsecured bond.

Somebody broke the passenger window of a gold 2001 Honda Civic between 10 a.m. and 11:48 a.m. Monday at 130 Old Durham Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole an in-dash CD player worth $1,300 and did $250 worth of damage to the window, reports state.

Someone attempted to steal chicken and beer from Harris Teeter at 310 N. Greensboro St. at 6:09 p.m. Tuesday, according to Carrboro police reports. The person tried to leave the store without paying for two 24-packs of Budweiser worth $15.99 each and two packs of chicken collectively worth $19.18, reports state.
