Police log for March 19, 2010

A 22-year-old Chapel Hill woman was charged with larceny at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday at 121 E. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Sofie Lynn Johnson was arrested after she attempted to steal a pair of silver earrings worth $16 and a jade necklace worth $20 from Light Years, reports state. Johnson was taken to the Orange County Jail in lieu of a $150 secured bond, reports state.

Someone pried open a locked door of a gold 1996 Honda Accord between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 1:31 a.m. Thursday at 2701 Homestead Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole the car’s CD player worth $150 and did $100 worth of damage to the dash, reports state.

Someone used a brick to shatter a window between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday at 727 S. Merritt Mill Road, causing $200 in damage, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Someone damaged 13 glass window panes when breaking into a home at 704 E. Franklin St. at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.  The damage was $600 to the panes, $200 to a door and $199 to some bedding, reports state.
