Police log March 26, 2010

A 52-year-old man was arrested on weapon, drug and assault charges at 4:03 a.m. Thursday at 310 W. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Larry Phillip Horton was charged with assault by strangulation, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a concealed handgun, weapon possession by a felon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 secured bond, reports state.

Someone turned off the power to a residence and kicked in the side entrance, causing $200 in damage, between 8:50 a.m. and 9:05 a.m. Wednesday at 216 Arcadia Lane, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Someone attempted to steal steaks from the Food Lion at 1720 Fordham Blvd. at 2:52 p.m. Wednesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Someone stole $20 worth of garden tools from a residence between 4:30 p.m. and 10:40 p.m.  Wednesday at 119 Graylyn Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

A derogatory Facebook message was written on Feb. 27, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
