The Daily Tar Heel

Whatever you’re doing and wherever you are this summer, stay moving.

Not that Chapel Hill isn’t a great place to be for the summer — everyone should experience sunsets at Maple View Ice Cream, day-long trips to play pick-up basketball at Woollen Gym and sneaking into pools you don’t belong too.

And many of us students will be tied down with jobs and internships.

But that shouldn’t stop us from exploring everything North Carolina has to offer.

You don’t have to go far. Drive a few hours to the east or west and spend a few days chilling at the beach or in the mountains.

I’m often too bogged down in the mind-numbing day-to-day banality of school to think about getting out of town, let alone plan something around group projects and research paper deadlines.

Hopefully none of this is news to you and you’ve already got big plans for the summer.

If not, consider it.

And make sure you have good music for the drive.

Here’s some of the stuff I’ll be listening to in Boone, Pine Knoll Shores and Chapel Hill alike:

-History Song by The Good, The Bad and the Queen

-Movement by LCD Soundsystem

-Providence by The Love Language

-The Delicate Place by Spoon

-Someone’s Missing by MGMT

-Die By the Drop by The Dead Weather

-Excuses by The Morning Benders

-Stereo Freeze by Jackie Mittoo

-Red Wine, Success by Cold War Kids

-Santa Ana Winds by Cold War Kids

-Diplomat’s Son by Vampire Weekend
