The Chapel Hill Fire Department responded to what officials believe to be a kitchen fire at the Franklin Street restaurant 411 West at 6:44 p.m., according to Lisa Edwards, a public information officer for the department.

The restaurant's customers were evacuated once fire crews arrived on the scene. Edwards said there were no injuries.

Five Chapel Hill crews responded along with an additional truck from the New Hope Fire Department, she said.

Edwards did not have an official response time.

Further investigation into the fire's cause and estimated damage is pending, Edwards said.
