UNC debuts at No. 18 in AP preseason poll, LSU at 21

North Carolina got its highest preseason AP ranking in more than a decade after being tabbed at No. 18 in the nation on Saturday.
Despite being projected to finish fourth in the Coastal Division by ACC media writers, the Tar Heels are still in the top 20 nationally.
Louisiana State University, UNC’s opponent in the Sept. 4 season opener in Atlanta, came in at No. 21.
