A Yahoo Sports article released Wednesday night details money transfers between former UNC associate football coach John Blake and sports agent Gary Wichard.
The report states at least six wire transfers were made from Wichard’s private account to Blake, along with a $45,000 personal loan to Blake and credit card issued Blake’s name under Pro Tect Management, the agency for which Wichard works.
On Sept. 5, Blake resigned his position as associate coach and recruiting coordinator amid speculation of his involvement in the NCAA investigation.
Blake and Wichard have a well-documented history, and Wichard has referred to Blake as a close friend. Phone records requested by the Daily Tar Heel show the two men communicated 151 times via cell phone between Nov. 5, 2009 and June 22, 2010.
