Police log for September 7, 2010

—A student was found in possession of a knife on East Chapel Hill High School’s campus between 12:20 p.m. and 12:40 p.m. Thursday at 500 Weaver Dairy Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Someone placed merchandise into a store bag and left without paying for the items between 8:35 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Thursday at the Food Lion at 1720 Fordham Blvd., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Stolen items were valued at more than $43 and included kiwi fruit, herbs, cocoa mix, tobacco products and a folder, reports state.

—Someone attempted to pry open the rear door of a home at 9:39 p.m. Friday at 218 Vance Street, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Damages to the door and screen were valued at $75, reports state.

—Someone stole a white 1994 Chevrolet Caprice worth $5,000 between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday at 2701 Homestead Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Someone threw rocks into the rear window of a black 2005 Toyota Corolla between 6 p.m. Friday and 5:30 p.m. Saturday at 201 Howell Street, according to Chapel Hill police reports.Damage to the window was valued at $400, reports state.
