Police Log for September 24, 2010

— A “strange dog” bit someone between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Thursday at 313 E. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.

— Someone broke the passenger window of a silver 2002 Saturn SL and removed a backpack from the seat between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 1:13 a.m. Thursday at 207 Short St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Included in the backpack the person stole was an IBM Thinkpad worth $2,000, and damage to the car was worth $100, reports state.

— Someone broke the window of a white 2004 Mitsubishi Galant, causing $250 in damage, between 12 p.m. Sunday and 11:40 a.m. Monday at 5639 Old Chapel Hill Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

— Someone removed a plant from its pot and thew it across the patio of ACME Food and Beverage Company between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Wednesday at 110 E. Main St., according to Carrboro police reports.

— Someone took a tool box, a Dewalt drill and sawzall and Kobalt socket set from a shed at 501 W Poplar Ave. between 9:30 a.m. and 7:13 p.m. Wednesday, according to Carrboro police reports.
