UNC trails William & Mary 17-7 at halftime

Former Tar Heel Michael Paulus leading Tribe with two touchdown passes

North Carolina trails William & Mary 17-7 at halftime in what has been a very sloppy first half for the Tar Heels.

It was looking as though UNC would enter at halftime with a 14-7 deficit, but running back Shaun Draughn fumbled a kickoff return that William & Mary turned into a last second field goal before halftime.

William & Mary quarterback, and former UNC QB, Michael Paulus has led the Tribe in this game after starting quarterback Mike Callahan was knocked from the game with an injury.

UNC quarterback T.J. Yates has been outplayed by his former backup. At the half Yates has gone 8-12 for 76 yards with an interception and a rushing touchdown. Paulus is 13-14 with 118 yards and two touchdown passes.

Running back Johnny White has rushed well at times in the first half, turning 15 carries into 58 yards. Senior cornerback Kendric Burney made his return to the field against William & Mary and has made some key plays in the first half. Burney has four first-half tackles, including a couple key open field hits.
