Police log for November 12, 2010

  • A student was found in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Culbreth Middle School, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person also stole a $200 iPod, reports state. The device was later recovered.
  • Someone left a $20 purse in a shopping cart outside of Harris Teeter at 210 S. Estes Drive between 6:30 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The purse contained a $10 wallet, $23 in cash, a MasterCard credit card and a AAA card, reports state.
  • Someone stole $1,550 worth of items from a home at 209 Elderberry Drive between 9 a.m. and 3:38 p.m. Wednesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.Stolen items included a $1,500 HP computer and a $50 suitcase, reports state
  • A student stole a $200 iPod from a teacher’s desk at Culbreth Middle School at 2:15 p.m. Monday and was also in possession of another two stolen $200 iPods, according to Chapel Hill police reports. All items were recovered, reports state.
  • Someone was robbed at Church Street near Caldwell Street at 2:01 a.m. Wednesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The thief took a student ID, a $25 Quicksilver wallet, a $250 Blackberry and various cards, reports state.
  • Someone was escorted away from Carr Mill Mall after harassing customers at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to Carrboro police reports.
  • Three individuals were escorted away from Mellott’s Trucking after allegedly climbing on equipment at 405 Jones Ferry Road at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, according to Carrboro police reports.
