One member of the Sanitation Two, Kerry Bigelow, has lost his second appeal to get his job back in a 3-2 vote by a personnel committee overseeing the appeal.

The committee’s recommendation was given to Town Manager Roger Stancil today.

Bigelow and his ex-coworker Clyde Clark were fired from their positions in the Chapel Hill solid waste department at the end of October for what a town memorandum called insubordination, threatening or intimidating behavior and unsatisfactory job performance.

Bigelow said he now plans to commit full-time to the ministry, of which he said he has been a part of since 2007.

“Just give me more time to do this,” Bigelow said. “I’m not helpless. I didn’t lose some six-figure job.”

Clark’s appeal decision will be handed in to the town Feb. 27.
