The UNC faculty council passed a resolution Friday to allow fixed-term faculty and retired faculty voting and representation privileges in the council meetings.
One amendment will require at least two retired faculty members be present at each faculty council meeting and allow them to speak on behalf of retired faculty.
The second amendment will allow all fixed-term faculty to vote on issues which pertain to fixed-term faculty members, such as the hiring or promotion of a fixed-term faculty member.
