After five females reported finding an unwelcome guest in their bedrooms, a sixth person has reported a similar incident.

Only this time, the victim was male.

Chapel Hill police spokesman Lt. Kevin Gunter said the victim filed a report Wednesday of a break in that occurred at about 5:30 a.m. Friday in the Mill Creek Condominiums complex.

The break-in was reported to be in the unit next to break-ins that happened Sunday.

The victim described the intruder as a 5-foot-10 inch black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Police have increased patrols in residential areas, but they urge students and community members to keep their doors locked at all times.

“What’s unusual about this is that he’s not going in and taking things,” Gunter said. “It really is hard to say what his motive is because most of the victims have been female but this victim was male.”

Gunter said residents should remain at a heightened sense of awareness and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
