Police log for June 23, 2011

  • Someone entered a victim’s yard and tried to start a fight at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday at 711 Pritchard Ave., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Someone caused damage to a vehicle between noon and 7:24 p.m. Monday at 1129 Weaver Dairy Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage to the car was valued at $300, reports state.
  • Someone broke a rear window of Asia Cafe between 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday at 118 E. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage to the window was valued at $50, reports state.
  • Someone washed shoes in a fountain at 6:45 a.m. Friday at 431 W. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Someone spray painted signs between midnight Thursday and 4:37 p.m. Monday at Regent Place, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Someone threw eggs at cars and broke a sign between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday at 100 Village Crossing Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The damage to the wooden sign was valued at $100, reports state.
  • Someone reported damage and larceny from a construction site between midnight June 11 and 9:21 a.m. June 13 at 400 Umstead Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage to three road signs was valued at a total of $300, and six other road signs worth a total of $600 were stolen, reports state. A piece of heavy construction equipment valued at $300 was also damaged, reports state.
  • Someone stole an automobile at 6:04 p.m. Friday at 201 Estes Drive, according to Carrboro police reports. The officer noticed tracks consistent with a tow truck but has not yet recovered the vehicle, reports state.
