There might be a quorum of the Orange County Board of Commissioners during the upcoming public transit open house sessions.
The open house sessions will allow citizens to discuss transportation services, including a proposed 17-mile light rail project between UNC Hospitals and downtown Durham, a proposed Amtrak Station in Hillsborough and bus lanes on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Chapel Hill.
The presence of a quorum would constitute a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners, which means the open houses will be subject to state laws on open meetings, public records and public notice.
The sessions will take place today at Extraordinary Ventures in Chapel Hill and April 30 at the Orange County West Campus Office Building in Hillsborough from 4 p.m to 7 p.m.
Representatives from Triangle Transit, Chapel Hill Transit and Orange Public Transportation will be available to answer questions.
