The UNC Board of Trustees has called an emergency meeting Wednesday at 4 p.m. via teleconference to discuss “personnel matters,” according to a news release sent out Tuesday afternoon.
The announcement comes as the general faculty meet to express support for Chancellor Holden Thorp, who announced Monday he will step down in June. Faculty are asking UNC-system President Thomas Ross to decline Thorp’s resignation.
