A cyclist killed in a hit-and-run accident in September had traces of cocaine in his system according to a toxicology report released this week.
Ivin Levander Scurlock, 41, was riding his bicycle southbound on U.S. 15-501 about 110 feet south of Chapel Hill town limits when he and Alexandria Simou, 40, were struck by a vehicle on Sept. 20.
Scurlock was killed and Simou was taken to UNC Hospitals following the accident. Simou later died at UNC Hospitals.
Scurlock also had a blood alcohol concentration of .09, according to the toxicology report.
