About 30,000 people celebrated Halloween on Franklin Street Thursday, and the Chapel Hill Police Department said no arrests were made.

Chapel Hill’s Homegrown Halloween event attracted a 36.3 percent increase in attendees this year — there were 22,000 people at last year’s Homegrown Halloween event.

At a press conference at 12:30 a.m. Friday, the department’s spokesman Lt. Kevin Gunter said 15 calls were placed with Emergency Medical Services. All of the calls were alcohol-related.

Seven of the EMS cases were transported to the hospital.
