A shooting in Carrboro left one person dead and another person injured early Friday morning, according to a report from the Carrboro Police Department.

Police responded to a break-in and a possible armed robbery at 105 Wesley St. at 1:52 a.m. Friday, the report states. When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds.

Police have identified the man killed in the incident as David Lee Goodman, 27, of Durham.

In the 911 call placed to police, a man told the operator that two black men had shot another person at the residence. The two black men then left on foot, according to the caller.

Goodman was pronounced dead at the scene. The other person shot in the incident was transported to UNC Hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, the report states.

According to an updated report on the shooting, police are seeking an unidentified black man for questioning in connection to the incident. The man was last seen in the vicinity of 105 Wesley St. on foot, but the report states that police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.

Carrboro Police have asked the State Bureau of Investigation for help during the initial phases of the investigation, the report states. Police will release further information on the shooting as appropriate, the report states.
