UNC has released the letter dated July 1 it received from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the University's accrediting body, regarding UNC's extended probation.
In a statement, Chancellor Carol Folt said the University appreciated the additional details the letter provided. She also said she and Provost Jim Dean said they were committed to meeting the standards specified by SACSCOC in a meeting with Belle Wheelan, the president of the commission.
"We further made clear that Carolina remains committed to doing whatever it takes to getting this right," Folt said in the statement.
