Police say a man indecently exposed himself to a passerby early Sunday off campus, according to an Alert Carolina message sent out around noon today.

The Chapel Hill Police Department is looking for a 30- to 40-year-old man, who asked someone walking by near Granville Towers and the Fraternity Court off of West Cameron Avenue for directions. The man, who the victim reported was unclothed from the waist down, attempted to grab the passerby's arm after she approached the car, the Alert Carolina message states. The suspect was last seen in a red, four-door sedan.

A second report of a suspicious person was made shortly afterward in the same area and around the same time, the message states. No indecent exposure was reported in the second incident.

Police ask that anyone with information about the identity of this individual contact the police department at 919-968-2760 or call Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.
