Get hype for The Daily Show's Hasan Minhaj (he is coming here)

Hasan Minhaj from “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" is performing Nov. 12 at the Great Hall at 7.30 p.m., and I don’t know about y’all, but we’re getting pretty hype about it.

The event, which will be hosted by the UNC Muslim Students Association and the Carolina Union Activities Board, will consist of a comedic lecture and a Q&A in which attendees can tweet questions at Minhaj.

A lot of students, especially those of the Muslim faith, are very excited about Minhaj’s appearance as the majority of his stand-up and reporting focus on Muslim and minority issues.

“There’s not a lot of representation of minorities in mainstream media," said Ayesha Faisal, a junior and the MSA publicity chair. "So we wanted to bring someone who could voice what we have to say in a comedic way."

Junior psychology major Khawla Assisou, who is also part of MSA, echoed Faisal’s statement.

“Especially with what happened (in the election), we needed some lightheartedness around here,” Assisou said. “We’re all American at the end of the day, and I think it will bring us closer together as a community.”

We are super pumped for Minhaj too. To get in the mood, I've compiled our Top 10 favorite Hasan Minhaj moments.
