Four students declared their candidacy for student body president at the UNC Board of Elections meeting Monday — Samantha Espada, Matthew McKnight, Joseph Nail and Elizabeth Adkins.
Although candidates can start campaigning on social media tonight, they must wait until Wednesday to begin collecting signatures from students. Candidates for student body president need to gather 1,250 student signatures by Feb. 7 to be eligible to run for the Feb. 14 election.
There will be another Board of Elections meeting in which students can declare their candidacy tonight at 5 p.m.
