The argument over the superiority of Moe’s or Chipotle is one of great debate and sometimes tension among American college students. But what do UNC students think? Does Chipotle’s guacamole override all others? Or does Moe’s free queso day set the bar higher than anyone else can?
Swerve senior writer Nicola McIrvine took to the streets to find out.

“So if I’m going to go for nachos, I’m going to go with Moe’s, or if I want a taco. Also because Moe’s has queso and queso is delicious. But if I’m going to get a bowl, 100 percent Chipotle because I just like the bowl option more and you can get a tortilla on the side. I feel like Chipotle is a little more fresh and Moe’s is when I want something that’s just not as healthy."

“I have to say the queso at Moe’s really gets me. That’s a winner. But if I’m going to go for the bowl it’s got to be Chipotle because it is fresher. But nine times out of 10 I’m craving Mexican food late at night, so then Moe’s is the move because I’m thinking, ‘Oh, I don’t want to do something healthy right now. I want a quesadilla.’”

“I prefer Chipotle. It’s good, it’s super tasty. They are big portions, and I would just always go for it.”

“Moe’s has the better queso and it’s all about the queso. That’s it.”

“I’ve never been to Moe’s and I don’t like Chipotle. One time I got a quesadilla and they didn’t cut it, so I had to cut it myself. So I hate them.”

Sophomore undeclared major
“Moe’s. It’s cheaper and they have queso. It’s a game changer.”
