Baltimore's Confederate statues were removed from the city early Wednesday morning.
Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh pledged to remove the four statues linked to the Confederacy in public spaces. The Baltimore City Council unanimously passed a resolution to remove the statues after the violence in Charlottesville Monday night.
The statues' removal followed events in Durham on Monday.
Protesters climbed a Confederate statue in front of Durham's old courthouse and used a rope to pull the statue off its base.
Takiyah Thompson, a N.C. Central University student and member of the Workers World Party, was arrested after activists held a press conference at NCCU on Tuesday. Dante Emmanuel Strobino and Ngoc Loan Tran, both from Durham, were arrested Wednesday morning.
The Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews said he will seek felony charges against others involved.
In response to Durham's events, students took to social media to discuss taking down the Silent Sam monument on North Campus Monday night.
The University said they are reviewing events in Charlottesville "to ensure that (they) are employing all best practices to keep our campus safe."
They said cameras are used to keep track of any damages to Silent Sam.
