It’s the most frightful time of the year! Post-Friday the 13th, students at Chapel Hill are gearing up for the spookiest holiday — Halloween. But with Halloween also comes the age-old stressor of finding a creative costume.

Staff writer Betsy Scarisbrick asked UNC students, “What are the trends for this year’s Halloween costumes?”

First-year Cooper Levin

Biology and economics major

“I'm not really sure. I will be going as Hoodie Allen probably. A lot of girls will be going as superheroes.”

Sophomore Matthew Lothspeich

Biomedical engineering major

"I think there will be a lot of clowns because of 'It.'"

Sophomore Kim Miramontes

Global studies major

“I’ve heard a lot of girls say they want to be boxers. And maybe some Hugh Hefners and Playboy bunnies in honor of Hugh.”

First-year Taylor Roberts

Undecided major

“I think there’s going to be some 'Wonder Woman,' 'Stranger Things,' 'It' clowns and dead Taylor Swifts.”

Senior Georgie Blackerby

Strategic communications major

"I think we’ll see a lot of costumes based off of 'Wonder Woman.'"
