The Daily Tar Heel

Timothy Crothers is a man of many talents. He's a former senior writer for Sports Illustrated and a published author who assisted two UNC sports legends with writing their autobiographies. He also had his book, The Queen of Katwe: One Girl's Triumphant Path to Becoming a Chess Champion, adapted into a film that was released in 2016 with high critical acclaim.

This week on Press Coverage, Brian Keyes and Tommy Fradenburg interview Crothers about his work with UNC women's soccer head coach Anson Dorrance and his impressive reign as a coach, and what it was like to peak into Dorrance's "chaotic" personality.

The boys also touch on North Carolina legend Roy Williams and how Crothers convinced him to finally let him write a book about him, and Williams’ humble upbringing that remains unknown to most UNC fans.
