Volunteers prepare for voters at Chapel of the Cross, an early voting and Election Day voting location used by many UNC students.

All of the candidates running for Orange County offices, all of which were uncontested, were elected.

Sally Greene was elected to the Board of Commissioners at-large, Jamezetta Bedford was elected to the Board of Commissioners for District 1 and Earl McKee was re-elected to the Board of Commissioners for District 2. Mark Kleinschmidt was elected as Clerk of Superior Court, Mark Chilton was re-elected as Register of Deeds and Charles Blackwood was re-elected as Sheriff.

All of those elected are Democrats.

The results of these specific elections don't come as a shock.

“It’s a big one, this area in particular is not as close as others around the state,” said Marisa Marracini, a voter from Hillsborough.
